Here is what I do:
Pour a little bit of lead let it clear the hole then pour some more.
That should allow the lead to flow down.If it does not make sure there is nothing wrong with your mold or a broken piece inside the mold. _________________ The King of Long Island Sound. |

keith,
You should also try to pour a couple and let them sit in the mold (To heat it up) and make sure your lead is Hot enough. Another thing you can do is try is a little Bees wax to Amalgamate it.

It kinda depends on what you are trying to pour.
Usually with dropshot weights, shakey heads, tubes and other regular stuff, I haven’t had any issues. But I tend to have the heat turned up a little bit higher. Just like Old Mud said, you may need to heat up the mold first for it to flow correctly...especially when trying to pour larger sized heads (football, etc) and getting the barb to come out correctly.
Trying to pour a little and then finish it will give you a line in your heads, but if you don’t care about lines and inaccurate weights, give that a try.
Sometimes it could even be the hooks aren’t fitting right. |
